Bard Nurseries Inc is a family-owned and family-operated garden center and landscape design company with deep roots in the community dating back to 1964. The business began when Stan and Jean Bard purchased their first tree farm in Mount Holly. Just a few years later, in 1966, they expanded by opening their first garden center in Pleasant Ridge. Their passion for growing and dedication to hard work laid the foundation for the company’s long-standing success.

In 1970, the garden center relocated to the Amelia area, and in 1998, Clint and Kathy Bard, along with their sons, moved the business to its current location, where it continues to thrive today.

What started as a small family tree farm quickly grew into a trusted destination where plants, knowledge, and community come together. During the 1970s, Clint and Kathy helped carry the business forward, learning every aspect from the ground up and continuing the family’s strong commitment to quality and care. Their passion and perseverance guided Bard Nurseries through changing times while staying true to its roots.

Today, third-generation and fourth-generation family members—Bob, Elizabeth, Doug, Teresa, and Jaden Bard—work side by side, growing and selecting high-quality annuals, perennials, trees, and shrubs, as well as designing and maintaining beautiful outdoor spaces. The business remains hands-on, with knowledge and expertise passed down through generations. You may even spot the newest, fifth-generation Bard spending time around the greenhouse.

For more than 60 years, our commitment has remained the same: healthy plants, trusted advice, and a welcoming place where gardeners of all generations feel at home. We are proud of our history, grateful for our community, and excited to continue growing together.

Today, Bard Nurseries, Inc. has grown to over 22 greenhouses spread over 4 acres.
